This medication helps alleviate symptoms of digestive dysfunction such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and gastric and duodenal inflammation and ulcers. It also improves gastrointestinal discomfort due to irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. For children, it is effective in relieving habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal passage disorders, such as constipation and diarrhea. Through this multi-faceted approach to various gastrointestinal disorder symptoms, it enhances the patient's gastrointestinal health. Overall, it is a medication that improves the function of the stomach and intestines, reduces discomfort, and aids in healthy digestive activities.
As Trimebutine maleate, 100-200mg is taken orally three times a day before meals. Adjust appropriately based on age and symptoms.
This medication contains lactose; therefore, it should not be used by patients with a genetic disorder that prevents the digestion of lactose. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal-related side effects such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal sounds, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, and a feeling of numbness in the mouth may occur rarely. Additionally, symptoms related to the nervous system such as palpitations, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may also be experienced occasionally. Caution is necessary as liver enzyme levels may rise in relation to liver function. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes may occur due to this medication; therefore, treatment should be discontinued immediately if these symptoms develop. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been sufficiently confirmed, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Women who are breastfeeding should also avoid taking this medication as its safety has not been established; if it must be taken, it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding. Furthermore, this medication contains Yellow No. 4, so individuals allergic or hypersensitive to this component should use it with caution.
