View approved original text

This medication is used for peritoneal dialysis treatment in patients with acute and chronic kidney failure.

How it is given

Adult administration

Generally, for adults, 1.5 to 2.5 liters should be instilled into the abdominal cavity and drained after retaining for 4 to 8 hours, repeated 3 to 5 times a day.

Precautions

This medication is a dialysis solution used for peritoneal dialysis treatment to remove waste and excess fluids from the body through the peritoneum. If treatment is halted prematurely while using this medication, it can pose a risk to life, so it must be used according to a physician's instructions. This medication should not be used in specific patient groups, such as those with a perforation of the diaphragm or severe burns or inflammation of the abdomen. Also, patients with severe electrolyte abnormalities, those recovering from abdominal surgery, and patients with serious lung diseases or sepsis may not be suitable for this medication. Special attention is needed for patients using digitalis preparations or those suspected of having metabolic disorders, as well as patients with lumbar disorders. During the dialysis process, abdominal pain, bleeding, peritonitis, electrolyte imbalance, and gastrointestinal symptoms may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately. In peritoneal dialysis, procedures must be performed in a clean and sterile environment to prevent infections, and the patient's weight and electrolyte status should be periodically checked. Before use, it is essential to verify that the dialysis solution container is intact and not contaminated, and if the container is damaged or the contents are cloudy, it should not be used. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication cautiously under the physician's judgment, as its safety has not been established. Dosing adjustments and special precautions are needed for children and the elderly, and in cases of overdose, dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities, and hyperglycemia may occur, necessitating immediate action. This medication is intended solely for peritoneal dialysis and should not be used for any other purpose. When using, it should be warmed to body temperature in advance, and precautions should be taken to avoid direct sunlight and freezing during storage. During peritoneal dialysis, blood sugar, weight, nutritional status, and electrolyte concentrations should be regularly monitored to ensure appropriate treatment is provided.
