Jeonghaetang (Sosihotang Extract Granule)

Adult dosage

Typically, an adult should take 1 pouch (one dose) 3 times a day before meals or between meals.

This medication can cause a serious lung disease called interstitial pneumonia, so if you experience fever, cough, shortness of breath, unusual sounds in the lungs, or abnormalities found in chest X-ray during treatment, discontinue use immediately and contact a healthcare professional. Patients receiving interferon preparations, those with liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, and severe liver dysfunction due to chronic hepatitis should not take this medication. Patients with genetic disorders affecting lactose breakdown should also avoid this medication. The risk of interstitial pneumonia increases when this drug is taken with interferon preparations, so they should not be taken together. Patients with hypertension, heart or kidney disease, edema, those taking other medications, elderly patients, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, children, patients with very low physical strength, and those with liver diseases must consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If symptoms such as swelling of the face or limbs, increased blood pressure, muscle weakness or pain, indigestion, rashes, itching, abnormal urination, fever, cough, shortness of breath, and jaundice occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. This medication is ideally not used for extended periods, and the prescribed dosage and administration must be strictly adhered to. Caution is advised as using it with potassium-containing preparations or certain diuretics may cause muscle disorders. When taking this medication with other herbal medicines, care should be taken to avoid overlapping herbal components. This medication should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture, out of the reach of children. Do not transfer the medication to another container from its original packaging, and make sure to seal the container after use.

Serious side effects

Fever, cough, difficulty breathing, abnormal lung sounds (wheezing, crackling sounds), abnormalities in chest X-ray, liver dysfunction, jaundice, severe swelling of the face and hands or feet, increased blood pressure, headache
