Precautions

This medication can cause serious lung disease called interstitial pneumonia; thus, if fever, cough, difficulty breathing, unusual lung sounds, or abnormalities found on chest X-ray occur during use, discontinue use immediately. If any of these symptoms appear while taking this medicine, it is important to stop taking it immediately and contact medical professionals. Patients using interferon preparations, those with liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, severe liver dysfunction, and those with lactose intolerance or related genetic problems should not take this medicine. Patients who are physically very weak or have low platelet counts due to chronic hepatitis should take this medicine with caution and must consult a doctor before use. Patients with high blood pressure, elderly patients, those with heart or kidney problems, those with swelling in the body, and those receiving other treatments should consult a specialist before use. If symptoms such as decreased urine output, swelling of the face or limbs, heaviness of eyelids, muscle stiffness, increased blood pressure, or headache occur while taking, discontinue immediately and consult medical professionals. This medicine contains licorice, and long-term use may lead to side effects such as hypokalemia, high blood pressure, and fluid retention; regular monitoring of blood potassium levels is required, and if abnormalities are found, the medication should be stopped. Caution is needed when taken with potassium-containing medications or certain diuretics, as muscle weakness or cramps may occur. Possible side effects include liver dysfunction, jaundice, skin rashes, itching, indigestion, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and symptoms of cystitis; if unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and inform medical professionals. Patients with chronic hepatitis should carefully monitor platelet count changes, and if symptoms do not improve, other treatment options should be considered. This medicine contains licorice, so attention should be paid to blood pressure and potassium levels, and it is important to ensure there are no overlapping ingredients when taken with other herbal medicines. Taking it together with interferon preparations increases the risk of interstitial pneumonia, so they should not be used in combination. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should take this medicine only if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks when necessary. Safety for children has not been fully confirmed, so it should be administered with caution to children. Elderly patients should use it carefully or at a reduced dosage due to declining body function.
