If urine output decreases, or if there is swelling in the face or limbs, heavy eyelids, stiffness in hands, increased blood pressure, or headaches while taking this medicine, it is important to immediately stop taking the medication and seek professional advice. Long-term use of this medicine may lead to symptoms such as hypokalemia, increased blood pressure, sodium and fluid retention, resulting in swelling and weight gain, so it is necessary to regularly check potassium levels in the blood. If symptoms of muscle weakness, cramps, or paralysis appear, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Caution should be applied as side effects like hypokalemia and increased blood pressure can occur with long-term use of this medicine when components exceed certain amounts. Moreover, the risk of side effects increases when taken with potassium supplements, other medications containing licorice, and certain diuretics, so careful use is advised.
