Adult use

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area several times a day.

This medication is a disinfectant with povidone-iodine as its main ingredient and is used on wounds or burn areas. This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to any ingredients of this medication or have thyroid function issues, patients with impaired kidney function, neonates, and infants under 6 months of age. Additionally, it should be avoided in patients with herpetic dermatitis or those undergoing radioactive iodine treatment before and after. Patients with severe conditions or a history of thyroid diseases, as well as those with previous kidney function issues, should be especially cautious when using this medication. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur during use, such as difficulty breathing or skin rashes, in which case use should be stopped immediately and consult a physician. Skin irritation, itching, rash, burning sensations, and dermatitis may occur, and if symptoms are severe, use should be discontinued. Especially when treating burns, excessive use may lead to electrolyte imbalances, metabolic acidosis, or worsening kidney function, so caution is necessary. Long-term or large-scale use may affect thyroid function, so regular thyroid testing is advisable. If used shortly before delivery, care should be taken to avoid contact with the newborn's eyes and skin, and if symptoms do not improve, alternative treatment methods should be considered. This medication may affect thyroid function test results, therefore there should be a specified interval between testing and administration. Patients receiving lithium treatment are advised not to use this medication regularly, and using it together with other specific disinfectants may reduce its efficacy. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication extensively or for prolonged periods, as it may affect the thyroid function of the fetus or newborn. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if it does come in contact, it should be rinsed immediately with clean water. If sudden symptoms such as itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing occur after use, immediate medical assistance should be sought. Store away from direct sunlight, and care should be taken to avoid storing in metal containers as it may corrode. In the event of an overdose, symptoms may include abdominal pain, vomiting, dizziness, and coma, necessitating immediate treatment.

Drug interactions

Do not use this medicine with hydrogen peroxide. Consult a physician or pharmacist before using it with lithium preparations, chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine compounds, preparations containing alkalies, mercury-containing products, and enzymatic wound treatment products.

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a container that prevents light exposure. Additionally, it should be stored at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. This storage will help maintain the effectiveness of the medication.
