Adult use

(4% solution) 1. Hand disinfection during surgery: Apply 5 mL of this drug to the hands and up to the elbows, and rub with a brush or sponge for about 3 minutes. Pay special attention to the areas between the nails, skin, and fingers while rubbing. Rinse with warm water and again wash with 5 mL of this drug for 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely. 2. Hand disinfection for healthcare personnel: Apply 5 mL of this drug to the hands and up to the elbows, and wash for 1 minute. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely.

This drug contains chlorhexidine as a component in cream or solution form, primarily used for the removal of bacteria from the skin and mucous membranes. This drug should not be used directly on individuals with hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or on nerve tissues such as the brain, spinal cord, and ears. Additionally, it should not be used on mucosal areas such as the vagina, bladder, mouth, or the eyes. Individuals with allergic tendencies or histories of allergic diseases such as asthma should be particularly cautious when using this drug. Pregnant women close to delivery should be careful when using it in the vulva area, as it may affect the newborn. Severe allergic reactions, such as shock, can rarely occur when using this drug, so if symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, or difficulty in breathing appear, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash or itching occur, use should be stopped, and there may be an increased sensitivity to sunlight, so care should be taken to avoid sun exposure. This drug is for external use only, and if accidentally ingested or injected, serious side effects may occur, so inform healthcare personnel immediately. Contact with the eyes can cause serious damage, so care should be taken to avoid eye contact when using and if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately. It is advisable not to use it on extensive wounds or burn areas, and care should be taken with newborns or premature infants due to the risk of systemic side effects. This drug may lose its effectiveness if it comes into contact with organic substances such as soap or blood; therefore, the skin should be thoroughly cleaned before use, and rinsed well after application. It is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this drug, and consultation with healthcare personnel is required beforehand. This drug must be stored under appropriate temperature and pH conditions, and it is important to use diluted solutions fresh and not to keep them for long. Lastly, this drug may have a corrosive effect on metal or glass devices, so it is advisable not to use it on ophthalmic instruments.

Serious side effects

Shock (nausea, cold sweat, tightness, difficulty in breathing), hives (including anaphylactic shock), erythema, cold sweats, tightness, difficulty in breathing.

Mild side effects

Hypersensitivity symptoms (rash, hives, irritation), photosensitivity, nausea, malaise, dizziness, erythema.

This drug should be stored in an opaque container that does not allow light in and in an airtight container to prevent air exposure. Additionally, it should be stored at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way helps maintain the efficacy of the medication for a longer period.
