Adult dosage

Take 0.64-2.56 grams three times daily before meals or in between meals. Adjust the dosage according to age and symptoms. Reduce the dosage if using for compounding purposes.

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant due to the potential of the ingredients to cause uterine contractions or affect pelvic organs, which may increase the risk of miscarriage. Additionally, nursing mothers are also advised against taking this medication since specific ingredients may pass into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. This medication contains lactose; thus, patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. Individuals experiencing diarrhea or loose stools should consult with a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it may worsen symptoms. Those with weak stomachs or experiencing loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting should consult a specialist before use. Individuals who are very physically weak may experience side effects more easily and symptoms may worsen, so caution is necessary. If symptoms such as loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea occur during use, discontinue immediate use and consult a specialist. The efficacy of this medication may vary from person to person, so it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and method of use. As this medication is a stimulant laxative, using it for extended periods, especially more than one week, may lead to tolerance and worsening constipation, which should be avoided. If daily laxatives are required, the underlying cause must be identified. When used alongside other herbal medicines, care must be taken to avoid overlapping ingredients, particularly when combined with medications containing daehwang. This medication is sensitive to moisture, so it must be stored in a sealed container after use.
