For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer: Take 10 mg orally once a day. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg once a day may be given. Maximum duration is 8 weeks for gastric ulcer and 6 weeks for duodenal ulcer. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Take 10 mg or 20 mg orally once a day for 4 to 8 weeks. If not treated after 8 weeks, an additional 8-week treatment with 10 mg or 20 mg can be taken twice a day.

This medication is used for the treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It also helps alleviate symptoms of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease and provides long-term maintenance therapy. In patients with gastrointestinal ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, its effectiveness is enhanced when combined with antibiotics. It is also used in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome to control excessive gastric acid secretion. It is effectively used for various gastrointestinal disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer: Take 10 mg orally once a day. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg once a day may be given. Maximum duration is 8 weeks for gastric ulcer and 6 weeks for duodenal ulcer. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Take 10 mg or 20 mg orally once a day for 4 to 8 weeks. Precautions

This medication should not be taken by those who are allergic to specific ingredients or have had hypersensitivity reactions. Caution is also necessary for those allergic to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication. Patients with liver dysfunction or elderly patients should be particularly cautious when using this medication. If allergic symptoms such as skin rash, hives, or itching occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately. Regular blood tests are recommended as abnormalities may arise. This medication may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract by reducing gastric acid secretion, so consult a doctor if diarrhea persists. Be cautious as drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery. There may be interactions between this medication and other drugs, so it is essential to inform your doctor of any other medications being taken. Special care is needed when used with specific antiviral drugs or antibiotics. Do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container. Regular examinations are important to monitor for side effects if this medication is used long-term.
