How to take

Adult dose

Iron as 100 mg once daily. Take before, during, or after meals.

Child dose

Children aged 12 years and older and under 19 years: 50 mg per dose, twice a day. Children aged 1 year to under 12 years: 50 mg per dose, once or twice a day. Children under 1 year: iron as 1 daily dose.

Precautions

This medicine can cause serious toxicity if an overdose occurs, especially in children; therefore, it should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children. People with an allergy to this medicine or certain iron-related diseases should not take it, and infants under 12 months old should also avoid it. It is advisable not to take this medicine together with drugs such as phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, and antacids. Drug interactions

Do not take with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids. Caution should be exercised when taken with products containing iron (iron supplements, MRI contrast agents, etc.), aldosterone antagonists, triamterene, diphosphonate salts, thyroxine, cefdinir preparations, quinolones, penicillamine, cholestyramine, pancreatic enzymes, and vitamin E, or with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) over 200 mg.

Food interactions

Avoid beverages containing tannins such as green tea and black tea, as well as milk and dairy products before or after taking this drug.

Storage
