Treatment of allergic (eczema, atopic dermatitis, etc.) and inflammatory skin diseases, as well as first-degree burns
This medication is used for skin diseases caused by allergic or inflammatory conditions such as eczema, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis. Additionally, it helps in the treatment of first-degree burns. These conditions often accompany inflammation and itching of the skin, therefore, this medication is effective in alleviating symptoms and improving skin condition. Hence, this medication is used for various types of dermatitis and mild burn treatment.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area 1 to 3 times a day.
This medication should not be used in cases of bacterial, fungal, viral, or animal skin infections as it may worsen symptoms. Individuals who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients, patients with eczematous otitis externa with a perforated eardrum, severe burns, perioral dermatitis, acne vulgaris, and rosacea should avoid using it. It should also be avoided by those with hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, children, and those allergic to propylene glycol contained in this medication should consult their doctor or pharmacist before use. If any unusual symptoms such as skin infections, rashes, itching, redness, skin dryness, or worsening of wounds occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Prolonged use may lead to side effects such as acne, skin atrophy, and pigmentation changes, so caution is needed. When used extensively or under occlusive dressings for a long time, it may suppress the body's hormone function, which also requires caution. When using around the eyes, be cautious of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma risk, and it is recommended to avoid long-term use for individuals with impaired kidney function or hearing loss. Strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, especially when used in children, supervision by a guardian is required. Since it contains corticosteroids, side effects may occur with systemic absorption, so it should not be used extensively over long periods. Pregnant or breastfeeding women must carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this medication, and during breastfeeding, it is advisable to discontinue use or temporarily halt breastfeeding. Children may be more sensitive to the drug than adults, so treatment should be administered at the minimal necessary dose while paying attention to side effects such as adrenal suppressions or growth impairment. Situations where the skin is sealed due to diapers or similar should be monitored, as increased drug absorption may raise the risk of side effects. Prolonged or excessive use may result in adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome, and skin infections, so it is essential to consult a healthcare professional if symptoms arise. Psoriasis patients may experience worsening skin symptoms during or after discontinuation of prolonged large doses, so add caution. This medication contains sodium benzoate, which can cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes, so care is required during use. If blurred vision or visual disturbances occur related to corticosteroid use, it is advisable to see an ophthalmologist. A sudden discontinuation of topical steroids may lead to withdrawal syndrome, so reconsider whether to reuse upon symptom emergence. This medication should not be used ophthalmically, and it is safer not to use it other than for treatment purposes after cosmetics or shaving. When using occlusive dressings, it must be done under the supervision of a doctor, and the affected area should be cleaned to reduce the risk of infection. Keep out of reach of children, and store the medication in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation.
