Treatment of dermatophyte and yeast fungal infections and associated skin diseases
This medication is used to treat dermatophytosis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and other fungi. It is effective for conditions such as tinea (ringworm), pityriasis (tinea versicolor), candidiasis of the skin, candidal vulvitis, and candidal balanitis. It can also be applied to skin diseases with concurrent fungal infection. Additionally, it is used to treat erythema ab igne caused by Corynebacterium. It helps improve a variety of skin fungal and bacterial infections.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area (site of illness) 2 to 3 times a day, gently rubbing it in. The duration of treatment varies according to the severity and location of the condition, generally 3 to 4 weeks for dermatophytosis, 1 to 3 weeks for pityriasis, 2 to 4 weeks for erythema ab igne, and 1 to 2 weeks for candidal vulvitis and candidal balanitis. If not mycologically cured, continue use for about 2 weeks after symptoms have resolved.
This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to specific components. During use, abnormal reactions such as redness, itching, blistering, or stinging may occur, requiring caution. If symptoms worsen or abnormal reactions appear while using this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. To enhance therapeutic effect, it should be used consistently as directed by a physician; patients should not stop use arbitrarily just because symptoms have disappeared. When applying, wash the affected area thoroughly and ensure it is completely dry; personal hygiene items should be replaced daily to prevent infections to other areas or others. It is advisable to avoid occlusive dressings or wrapping while using this medication. In cases where used in the genital area, be cautious as the effectiveness of latex products such as condoms may be temporarily reduced. If pregnant or breastfeeding, it is safest to consult a physician before use. Children under 2 years of age should not use this medication without a physician's direction. While serious toxicity risk is low in cases of overdose or accidental ingestion, it is advisable to consult a specialist immediately. This medication should only be used on the skin and should not be applied to the eyes or severely wounded areas. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers for safety.
