Precautions

This medication should not be used by women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. It is also advisable not to administer it to patients with gastrointestinal bleeding or chronic gastrointestinal disorders. Patients with certain rare tumors or those with allergies to this medication should not use it. Avoid prescribing this medication to patients with neurological disorders such as epilepsy or bipolar disorder. Patients with hypertension, children, and the elderly should be particularly cautious when using this medication, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. This medication can affect hormone secretion, potentially resulting in side effects such as amenorrhea, excessive lactation, and gynecomastia, so symptoms should be closely monitored. Furthermore, neurological side effects such as tremors or abnormal tongue movements may occur rarely, and if such symptoms arise, use should be discontinued immediately. Prolonged use may lead to involuntary muscle movements, requiring caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation may also occur. Cardiac side effects, such as hypertension or arrhythmia, may occur, so caution is advised for patients with heart diseases. Rash or swelling may occur rarely, in which case drug use should also be stopped. It is advisable to avoid activities requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery, during the use of this medication. As there may be interactions with other medications, caution is particularly needed when taken with anticholinergics, analgesics, heart medications, psychiatric drugs, or alcohol. There is an increased risk of cardiac arrhythmias, so it should not be used in conjunction with drugs that prolong the QT interval. It is important not to use this medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women due to the unresolved safety for fetuses or newborns. In the elderly, the medication may remain in the body longer due to decreased kidney function, necessitating dosage adjustments and monitoring for side effects. This medication has an antiemetic effect that may mask symptoms of other conditions, so it should be used carefully. Animal studies have suggested potential effects on reproductive function, so caution is advised with long-term use.
