Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with a fever or who are weak with dry cough or vomiting blood, as well as those with inflammatory heat. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals who are lactose intolerant or have certain genetic issues that make it difficult to break down or absorb lactose should not take it. Individuals with high blood pressure, older adults, those with heart or kidney issues, those experiencing swelling, people currently undergoing treatment by a physician, pregnant women, children in poor nutritional status, and individuals with phlegm heat syndrome should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as reduced urine output, swelling of the face or extremities, heaviness of eyelids, stiffness of hands, rising blood pressure, or headaches occur, the medication should be immediately discontinued and a specialist consulted. Furthermore, prolonged use may cause issues such as hypokalemia, elevated blood pressure, fluid retention, edema, and weight gain, so potassium levels should be monitored periodically and if muscle weakness, cramps, or paralysis symptoms occur, use should be stopped. Dry mouth or a twisted tongue are also possible side effects, so caution is required. When taking this medication, combining it with potassium-rich or licorice-containing drugs and certain diuretics might increase the risk of side effects, so it should be used carefully under the guidance of a specialist. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid using specific ingredients such as Pinellia and Atractylodes together.
