This medication is effective in treating athlete's foot, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. It is also used for tinea versicolor caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare and cutaneous candidiasis. In other words, it helps improve various types of dermatophyte infections.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply to the affected area once or twice daily. The treatment duration varies according to the condition: 1. Athlete's foot: Once daily for 1 week Interdigital athlete's foot: Twice daily for 1 week Plantar athlete's foot: Twice daily for 2 weeks 2. Tinea corporis, tinea cruris: 1 to 2 weeks 3. Cutaneous candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks 4. Tinea versicolor: 2 weeks If symptoms do not improve after the treatment period, a reevaluation should be conducted.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by anyone who has had an allergic reaction to this medication or any component of this medication. It is also not recommended for women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Additionally, this medication should not be used in children. If an allergic reaction such as a rash occurs or if skin irritation worsens during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. If symptoms such as hives, redness, itching, irritation, skin peeling, scab formation, discoloration, prickling pain, or burning sensation appear on the skin, consult a specialist immediately. It is important not to use occlusive dressings or packaging methods without medical guidance when using this medication. If no effect is observed from this medication, consider testing for other fungal infections and evaluating alternative treatments. Avoid using alkaline soap if there is a Candida infection. This medication is minimally absorbed into intact skin, reducing the likelihood of systemic side effects; however, systemic side effects may occur in wound areas, large areas, or in infants, so caution is advised. If accidentally ingested, activated charcoal should be used to remove the active ingredient, and symptomatic treatment should be provided if necessary. This medication is a topical treatment for external use only and should not be applied to the eyes or mucosal areas. If it gets into the eyes, thoroughly rinse with plenty of water, being cautious of potential eye irritation or worsening of any infection. It is also safe to avoid use in areas like the nails, scalp, around the mouth, and vaginal area. There have been cases in animal testing where this medication showed weak photosensitivity; therefore, caution may be needed regarding sunlight exposure. When storing, keep out of reach of children, and do not transfer the medication to another container, as it may reduce the quality or risk misuse; always store in the original container tightly closed.
