Treatment of allergic and inflammatory skin diseases (eczema, contact dermatitis, etc.) and first-degree burns
This medication is effective for treatment of eczema, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, photodermatitis, chronic simple lichen, intertrigo, exfoliative dermatitis, itching, and psoriasis with secondary infections in allergic or inflammatory skin diseases. It is also used for first-degree burns to alleviate symptoms. This medication helps improve the discomfort associated with skin diseases and burns.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area 1 to 3 times a day.
This medication should not be used by individuals with specific skin infections as it may worsen symptoms. Additionally, individuals allergic or hypersensitive to this medication or its components should avoid use. Patients with eczematous external otitis, especially when there are perforations in the ear, should be cautious as the healing process may be delayed with this medication. It is advisable not to use if there are ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite on the skin as the skin regeneration may be hindered. Patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea should also refrain from using this medication. Caution is required if there is an allergy to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin as cross-reactivity may occur. Pregnant women, those who may become pregnant, or nursing mothers must consult professionals before using this medication. It is also safe for children or minors to consult with a professional before use. This medication contains propylene glycol; if allergic to this ingredient, it should be used with caution. If skin redness, itching, rash, pain, swelling, or other abnormal reactions occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Long-term use may cause side effects such as thinning of the skin or dilation of blood vessels, so the duration and amount of use should be adjusted. Particularly, if used extensively with occlusive dressings, corticosteroids may be absorbed systemically and affect hormone function, so caution is advised. Care should be taken while using around the eyes due to the risk of increased intracranial pressure or glaucoma, and long-term use should be avoided. Using this medication either long-term or in large amounts may lead to side effects such as decreased kidney function or hearing problems; thus, caution is necessary. Children are at a higher risk for side effects than adults, so only the minimal amount should be used under guardianship. If there are no treatment effects or if symptoms worsen, use should be discontinued and a professional consulted. This medication should not be for ophthalmic use, and it should not be used for purposes such as makeup or shaving. The occlusive dressing method should be used strictly according to the doctor's instructions, after ensuring that the affected area is clean to reduce the risk of infection. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, and seal it in its original container for safe storage.
