Prevention of scurvy and improvement of capillary hemorrhage, alleviation of physical fatigue during pregnancy and lactation.
This medication is effective for the prevention and treatment of scurvy. It is also used when the body's requirement for vitamin C increases due to pregnancy, lactation, physical fatigue, or severe physical labor. It helps with capillary hemorrhages associated with vitamin C deficiency, such as gum bleeding, nosebleeds, hematuria, and skin pigmentation (melasma, freckles), as well as malabsorption symptoms. In cases where oral administration is difficult or acute situations arise, it can be administered as an injection to prevent and treat vitamin C deficiency. It is also effectively used for metabolic disorders caused by the administration of specific medications, impaired bone matrix formation during fractures, and photodermatitis. Overall, it is used to improve and treat vitamin C deficiency and related symptoms.
Adults: Typically take 500~1000mg of ascorbic acid once daily or in divided doses. - Take with a sufficient amount of water. (For tablets, capsules) - Dissolve in 1 cup of water before taking (for effervescent tablets) - Allow to dissolve in the mouth or chew (for chewable tablets) (For injection) Ascorbic acid can be administered subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously in divided doses of 50~1,000mg daily. Adjust according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to specific ingredients. This medication is not suitable for patients with oxalate nephropathy, Mediterranean anemia, gout, or cystinuria. Patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency should be cautious as high doses can cause destruction of blood cells. Patients with oxalate stones in the kidneys should not take more than 1 gram per day. Pregnant women or those taking high doses should be careful as it may cause scurvy in newborns. Excessive alcohol consumption and smoking should be avoided, and this medication should be taken with plenty of water. To prevent esophagitis, do not lie down immediately after taking. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with kidney stones, and individuals taking certain blood thinners or antibiotics should consult a specialist before taking. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, flushing, headache, or insomnia occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult a specialist. The prescribed dosage and administration guidelines must be strictly followed, and it should be given to children under the supervision of a guardian. If symptoms do not improve after one month of use, it is advisable to consult a specialist. This medication may affect blood glucose test results, so it is necessary to notify before testing. Store in a place out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place for quality maintenance. Do not transfer to another container to maintain quality and avoid misuse.
