Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to any of its components or those with a history of acute porphyria. It should be used cautiously in patients with impaired kidney function, as the drug may remain in the body longer; thus, dosage reduction or extended dosing intervals is necessary. Caution is also advised for patients with compromised liver function or a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, and those taking NSAIDs. Particularly, patients with gastric ulcers or those over middle age who have newly developed or experienced changes in dyspeptic symptoms should confirm the possibility of gastric cancer before using this medication. This drug should be administered in conjunction with eradication therapy for patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori. Severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylactic shock, may occur rarely; any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate cessation of the medication and consultation with healthcare professionals. Blood tests may reveal abnormalities such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia; notify a hospital immediately if you experience weakness, bleeding, or fever. The liver function may deteriorate temporarily; if symptoms such as jaundice, fatigue, or loss of appetite occur, stop the medication and consult a physician. Arrhythmias, vasculitis, gastrointestinal symptoms (constipation, nausea, abdominal pain, etc.), and neuropsychiatric symptoms (dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, etc.) may also occur rarely, necessitating caution. This drug has been reported to cause side effects such as gynecomastia, erectile dysfunction, myalgia, and skin rashes, so seek immediate medical advice if you have any unusual symptoms. Elderly patients or those with reduced kidney function may have higher blood drug concentrations, requiring dosage adjustments. While taking this medication, if dizziness or drowsiness occurs, avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Interactions with other drugs may occur, so always inform your healthcare provider of any medications you are taking, especially anticoagulants like warfarin, and regularly monitor blood coagulation status when using them concurrently.
