Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. The ingredients in this medication may cause uterine contractions or increase blood flow to pelvic organs, raising the risk of miscarriage or premature labor. Additionally, breastfeeding women should avoid this medication as some ingredients may be transmitted through breast milk and cause diarrhea in the baby. Elderly patients or those taking other medications must consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication, as they may be more susceptible to its effects due to weakened bodily function. Patients with diarrhea or loose stools, those with weak stomachs, or those experiencing decreased appetite, nausea, or vomiting should consult a professional before taking this medication since these symptoms may worsen. Patients with very weak physical condition should also be cautious when taking this medication, as side effects may easily occur and symptoms may worsen. Patients who have experienced allergic reactions to medications or are currently taking laxatives, as well as children, must consult a professional before taking this medication, as its safety has not been adequately confirmed in children. If respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing develop, or if side effects such as liver dysfunction, skin rashes, or itching occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a professional. Moreover, if symptoms do not improve after about a week of use, discontinue use and consult a professional. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and amounts, particularly since the laxative effect of Daehwang may vary between individuals, caution is advised. Stimulant laxatives can build tolerance with prolonged use, potentially worsening constipation, so it is advisable not to use them continuously for more than a week. If daily laxatives are needed, the cause should be investigated. When taking with other herbal medicines, confirm that there are no overlapping ingredients, especially when taking products containing Daehwang. This medication must be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture, and the container should be sealed after use. Store in a place out of reach of children, and it is safest not to transfer the medication from its original container to another.
