Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with inflammatory heat or those experiencing fever, as well as by individuals who are weak and suffer from dry cough. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, patients with galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption, and other genetic issues should avoid taking it. Children with nutritional deficiencies or those with damp heat, individuals with weak stomach function, and pregnant women should use this medication with caution. The glycyrrhizin component in this medication, if taken long term beyond a certain quantity, may lower blood potassium levels, raise blood pressure, and lead to symptoms of sodium and fluid retention in the body, such as swelling or weight gain, thus caution is advised. This medication should be stored in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight, and after use, it must be sealed properly. To maintain quality, it is advised not to transfer it to another container. Patients with high blood pressure, elderly individuals, those with heart or kidney diseases, people with edema, and those undergoing treatment with a physician should consult a professional before taking this medication. If urinary output decreases, there is swelling in the face or extremities, eyelids feel heavy, headache occurs, or other symptoms such as stiff hands or rising blood pressure occur, it is essential to stop the medication immediately and consult a professional. For long-term use, regular checks of serum potassium levels are necessary, and if any abnormalities are found, discontinuation is mandated. If symptoms of muscle weakness, limb cramps, or paralysis arise, the medication should be stopped immediately. This medication may increase the risk of hypokalemia or muscle complications if taken in conjunction with potassium-containing preparations, licorice-containing preparations, or specific diuretics, thus it should be used more cautiously when taking these medications together.
