Treatment of acute otitis externa
This medication is used for the treatment of acute otitis externa caused by various bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus mirabilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Instill 3 drops of this medication into the infected ear twice a day for 7 days. Shake well before use. Instilling cold solution into the ear may cause dizziness, so warm the bottle in hand for 1-2 minutes before administration. The patient should lie down with the infected ear facing upwards when instilling the medication and maintain that position for 30-60 seconds. If necessary, instill the medication in the opposite ear as well.

This medication should not be used in patients with an allergy to hydrocortisone, ciprofloxacin, or other quinolone antibiotics. Patients with viral infections of the ear such as chickenpox or herpes simplex or those with a perforated eardrum should also avoid using this medication. Side effects such as ear itching, ear pain, headache, dizziness, and skin rash may occur with use, and patients should consult a doctor if they experience these symptoms. It is important to stop use immediately and consult a specialist if skin redness or an allergic reaction occurs. Long-term use may lead to fungal infections, so if symptoms do not improve after one week, further investigation is necessary. The bottle cap of this medication contains latex, so those with latex allergies should use caution. Due to the corticosteroid component, visual disturbances may occur; if blurriness or changes in vision arise, ophthalmologic consultation is required. It is advisable not to use this medication with other ear medications, and it should be used with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is safe to use in children over 2 years of age, but caution is advised for children under 2 years due to insufficient usage data. This medication should not be used in areas other than the ear, such as the eyes or injection routes, and the container must be kept clean to prevent contamination. After treatment, any remaining medication should be discarded, kept out of reach of children, and stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
