Treatment of skin diseases caused by dermatomycosis (dermatophytes, yeast fungi) and Corynebacterium infections
This medication is used to treat dermatomycotic infections caused by dermatophytes, yeast fungi, and other fungi. It is effective for conditions such as tinea, pityriasis, candidiasis of the skin, candidal vulvitis, and candidal balanitis. It can also be used for skin diseases with fungal superinfection. It is helpful for the treatment of erythrasma caused by Corynebacterium. Therefore, it is used to improve various symptoms of skin fungal infections.
Apply thinly to the affected area (diseased area) 2-3 times a day, and gently rub it in. The treatment duration varies based on the severity and location of the disease. Dermatomycosis: 3-4 weeks Pityriasis: 1-3 weeks Erythrasma: 2-4 weeks Candidal vulvitis and candidal balanitis: 1-2 weeks If not completely cured mycologically, treatment is generally continued for about 2 weeks after all symptoms disappear according to treatment duration. Even after the treatment period, if clinical symptoms do not improve, re-evaluation of diagnosis is necessary.
This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergies or hypersensitivity to certain ingredients. During use, abnormal reactions such as skin rashes, itching, red spots, blisters, swelling, and pain may occur. If these symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. To enhance treatment effectiveness, it is essential to use the medication consistently for the prescribed duration according to the doctor's instructions. Arbitrarily discontinuing treatment after symptoms improve may result in incomplete resolution of fungal infections and possible recurrence. The dosage and administration directions must be strictly followed, and care should be taken not to use an excessive amount if a dose is missed. Clothing or towels that contact the treatment area should be changed daily to prevent infection spreading to other areas or people. Before application, the affected area should be washed clean and thoroughly dried, especially between the toes or similar areas that need to be completely dried. If there is no response, tests may be necessary to rule out other pathogenic infections, and procedures like using occlusive dressings should not be done without a doctor's instruction. Acidic soaps should not be used during Candida infections as they may promote the growth of Candida. When using on the genital area, it may temporarily reduce the effectiveness of condoms or intrauterine devices, so caution is advised. The cetostearyl alcohol in this medication may cause skin irritation or contact dermatitis. The effects on driving or operating machinery are not known, but caution is advisable. When used with other specific antifungals, the efficacy may be reduced, so it should be done under professional consultation. During pregnancy or lactation, use should be discussed with a doctor, and especially during lactation, it is advisable to clean the nipple area thoroughly. It should not be used in children under the age of 2 without a doctor’s guidance. While the risk of serious poisoning from overdose or accidental ingestion is low, if abnormal symptoms occur, consultation with medical personnel is necessary. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied around the eyes or on severely damaged skin, and it must not be ingested.
