Precautions

This medication should not be used in specific patients. For example, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients, those with thyroid dysfunction, those with impaired kidney function, and infants or newborns under 6 months should avoid use. Additionally, patients with extensive burns or a history of thyroid disease or kidney failure should be especially careful when using this medication. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur with this medication, which can manifest as pain, itching, rash, etc. If these symptoms are severe, use should be stopped immediately. Using large amounts may lead to electrolyte imbalances, metabolic disorders, and decreased kidney function; therefore, caution is necessary. Long-term use may result in changes in thyroid hormone levels, and in some patients, excessive iodide absorption may cause discomfort in the mouth and throat, skin reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, etc. If this medication is used shortly before delivery, the newborn's eyes and body should be cleansed to ensure that no medication remains, and if symptoms do not improve, surgical intervention should be considered. Patients with extensive burns require adequate hydration and monitoring of renal and metabolic function, and thyroid function tests and scintigraphy should be performed 1-2 weeks after using this medication. This medication contains iodine and may cause thyroid dysfunction if used for an extended period or in large amounts, so caution is advised. In the presence of infection, the wound should be thoroughly washed with saline before using this medication, and severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur rarely, so any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate medical attention. There may be interactions when used in conjunction with other medications, so individuals receiving lithium therapy should avoid using this medication regularly. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid prolonged or extensive use, and regular monitoring of thyroid function in newborns and infants is recommended. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes; if the medication gets in the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water. When using this medication, the affected area should be thoroughly washed and disinfected, and it should not be mixed with other formulations. Store this medication in its original container in a cool, dry place between 5 and 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid direct sunlight and humid areas.
