Precautions

This drug belongs to the class of alpha-blockers, primarily used for alleviating symptoms related to hypertension or prostatic hypertrophy. This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to alpha-blockers or in children under 12 years of age. Use with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, and specific conditions such as orthostatic hypotension or heart disease. Dizziness or fainting may occur during treatment; particular caution is advised when starting therapy or changing doses. Since this drug lowers blood pressure, sudden movements can lead to dizziness; it is advisable to rise slowly. If any adverse reactions occur after taking the medication, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is recommended, and if an allergic reaction such as a rash appears, the medication should be discontinued. The blood pressure-lowering effects of this drug may be enhanced when taken with other medications; therefore, it's essential to inform about any other medications being taken. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their doctor before using this medication and should avoid it if possible. Elderly patients should start with a low dose to prevent excessive drops in blood pressure, adjusting gradually, which is safer. In case of overdose, there could be a rapid drop in blood pressure, requiring emergency treatment; dialysis is not effective. Store this medication out of the reach of children and avoid transferring to other containers. It is important to confirm the absence of prostate cancer when treating benign prostatic hyperplasia, and patients scheduled for cataract surgery must inform their healthcare provider about taking this drug before the surgery.
