This medication is used to treat bacterial vaginosis caused by Haemophilus species, Gardnerella species, non-specific bacteria, Corynebacterium, or anaerobic bacteria.

How to use

Adult use

1 to 2 times a day for 5 days, approximately 5g to be inserted into the vaginal applicator. If using once a day, use at bedtime.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in certain patients. It should not be used by individuals allergic to this drug or its components, breastfeeding women, children, and patients who have taken Disulfiram within the last 2 weeks. Caution is needed in patients with severe liver disease, as the metabolism of this drug is slow, which can lead to accumulation in the body. Patients with central nervous system disorders or blood coagulation problems should also use it cautiously. Various side effects such as skin rash, itching, oral and skin dryness, digestive discomfort, headache, dizziness, and urinary difficulties may occur while using this medication. If any of these symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Neurological symptoms have been reported in patients who received this medication orally or intravenously, so treatment should be stopped if abnormal neurological symptoms appear. Patients with vaginal candidiasis may experience worsening pain while using this medication, and it is recommended to avoid sexual intercourse during use. When using this medication, avoid exposing the treated area to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet light, and it is important to use it for the minimum duration necessary to prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria. Taking this medication with alcohol may cause alcohol-related side effects, so it is advisable to avoid alcoholic beverages and medications containing alcohol during treatment. Patients who have taken Disulfiram within the last 2 weeks should not use this medication, and patients on anticoagulants should frequently monitor their blood coagulation status. Patients taking lithium should be cautious as this medication can increase serum lithium levels. It is advisable not to use this medication early in pregnancy, and its use during pregnancy should be carefully decided based on a doctor's judgment. Breastfeeding women are recommended to discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication. It is preferable not to use this medication in children, as safety and efficacy have not been established. This medication should be used only for external application and should be kept away from the eyes; if it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately. When storing, keep it in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. The storage temperature should be between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This will help maintain the effectiveness of the drug for a longer time.

  • Reversible neutropenia, thrombocytopenia
