Repiz Capsule (Nifuroxazide)

Adult dose

Adults: Take nifuroxazide 200 mg per dose, 4 times daily. Do not take for more than 3 days. Maintain fluid intake during the period of use, and adjust the amount and method of fluid replacement according to the severity of diarrhea and the patient's age and condition.

This medication may require intravenous fluid supplementation if severe and persistent diarrhea or vomiting occurs. Individuals with an allergy to this medication or its components should not take it. Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should not use this medication. Individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication due to the lactose it contains. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding are advised against taking this medication. During treatment, it is recommended to avoid raw vegetables, fruits, green vegetables, spicy foods, frozen foods, and drinks, and to consume cooked meats and rice. This medication contains a dye called Tartrazine (Yellow No. 5); therefore, individuals with allergies or hypersensitivity to this component should consult a healthcare provider before taking it. If symptoms of an allergic reaction such as skin rash, hives, angioedema, or anaphylaxis occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare provider. If diarrhea persists for more than 2 days, re-evaluate treatment and adjust fluid supplementation methods if necessary. Since the safety of this medication has not been sufficiently established in pregnant or breastfeeding women, it is advisable to avoid taking it. Diarrhea may lead to insufficient body electrolytes; therefore, it is essential to replenish fluids adequately with drinks containing sugar and salt. There are no specific materials regarding overdose, but one should carefully observe symptoms and seek necessary treatment. If invasive symptoms accompany infectious diarrhea, antibiotic treatment may generally be required. This medication does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. It should be stored in a secure place out of the reach of children, in its original container, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place.

Food interactions

This medication requires avoiding raw vegetables, fruits, green vegetables, spicy food, and frozen foods and beverages during diarrhea, and it is advisable to consume cooked foods (meat, rice) if possible.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air and moisture from entering. It is advisable to maintain a storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to preserve the medication's effectiveness.
