Iron deficiency anemia is a condition caused by a lack of iron in the body. This medicine supplements iron to restore the hemoglobin levels in the blood to normal and helps alleviate symptoms such as fatigue and lethargy. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.

How to take

Adult dose

100mg of iron once daily. Take before, during, or after meals.

Child dose

Children aged 12 years and older to under 19 years: 50mg once, twice a day. Children aged 1 year to under 12 years: 50mg once, 1 to 2 times a day. Under 1 year: 1 dose of iron once a day.

Precautions

This medicine can cause severe toxicity and may lead to death if a child accidentally ingests a large amount, so it should be stored out of reach of children in a safe place. People who are allergic to this medicine or its ingredients should not take it, and it should also be avoided by infants under 12 months of age or individuals with certain iron metabolism disorders. Additionally, it is advisable not to take this medicine together with drugs such as phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, or antacids. During treatment, it is recommended to avoid consuming beverages such as green tea or black tea that contain tannins, as well as milk and dairy products before and after taking the medication. If abnormal symptoms such as skin rash, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, etc. occur during treatment, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a doctor. It is especially important for children to administer it under the supervision of a guardian. Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take together with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids. Consult a physician or pharmacist if taken with iron-containing preparations (iron supplements, MRI contrast agents), anti-aldosterone agents, triamterene, diphosphonic acid salts, thyroxine, cefdinir preparations, quinolone antibiotics, penicillamine, cholestyramine, pancreatic extracts, vitamin E, or ascorbic acid (vitamin C) over 200mg.

Food interactions

Avoid consuming teas containing tannins, such as green tea and black tea, and milk or dairy products before and after taking this medication.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. The best storage temperature is room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
