Treatment of dermatophyte infections (such as tinea pedis, tinea corporis, etc.) and pityriasis versicolor, skin candidiasis
This medication is used for the treatment of dermatophyte infections of the skin, including tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum. It is also effective against pityriasis versicolor caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare and skin candidiasis. In other words, it helps treat skin diseases caused by various fungal infections.
Apply to the affected area (site of disease) 1 to 2 times a day. The duration of treatment according to the condition is as follows: 1. Tinea pedis: once daily for 1 week Interdigital tinea pedis: twice daily for 1 week Plantar tinea pedis: twice daily for 2 weeks 2. Tinea corporis, tinea cruris: 1 to 2 weeks 3. Skin candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks 4. Pityriasis versicolor: 2 weeks Clinical symptoms should improve after the treatment period.
This medication should not be used by individuals who have had an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its components. It is also advisable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing women, to avoid using this medication. Moreover, it is recommended that this medication not be used on children. If a rash or allergic reaction occurs while using this medication, usage should be immediately discontinued and consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. In case of excessive skin irritation or worsening symptoms, use should also be stopped, and a specialist should be consulted. If symptoms such as hives, redness, itching, irritation, skin peeling, crusting on wounds, pigment changes, tingling, or burning sensation occur, usage should be immediately stopped. This medication contains a component called propylene glycol, so individuals who have allergy or hypersensitivity history to this component should use it with caution. When using this product, do not apply occlusive dressings or packing methods without a doctor's direction. If no effect is seen after using this medication, tests should be conducted to confirm the presence of a fungal infection, and if necessary, other treatment options should be pursued. If a Candida infection is present, acidic soap should be avoided, as it promotes fungal growth. When applying to injured areas or to large areas, or to infants, caution is necessary because of the potential for systemic absorption of the drug. If this medication is accidentally ingested, activated charcoal should be used to eliminate the active ingredient, and symptom-specific treatment should be provided if necessary. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water immediately, as there is a risk of eye irritation or worsening infections. It is also safe to avoid using it on nails, scalp, around the mouth, and in the vaginal area. In animal studies, this medication has shown mild phototoxicity; therefore, caution may be necessary when exposed to sunlight. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original sealed container to maintain drug quality and ensure safe usage.
