Relief of severe and moderate acute and chronic pain (such as pain related to cancer, post-diagnostic and post-surgical pain)
This medication is used to relieve severe and moderate acute or chronic pain, such as pain due to various cancers and pain occurring after diagnosis or surgery.
Take 1 tablet (equivalent to 100 mg of tramadol hydrochloride) twice a day, with or without meals. A maximum of 4 tablets (equivalent to 400 mg of tramadol hydrochloride) may be taken per day. Do not take within 6 hours.
This medication can cause seizures if taken above the recommended dosage, so it must be taken in the prescribed maximum dosage. Patients with a risk of epilepsy or seizures should use this medication only if absolutely necessary. Long-term use may result in psychological or physical dependence; therefore, patients with a history of drug abuse or dependence should use it strictly under close supervision for a short duration. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, coma, and in serious cases, death. Individuals genetically metabolizing this medication rapidly may experience a stronger effect than expected, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, so consult with a physician. Particularly, this medication should not be used in children under 12 years old and in patients under 18 years old who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 years should avoid it if there are specific risk factors. If there are symptoms of sleep apnea or hypoxemia, the condition may worsen during the use of this medication, thus changes in symptoms should be observed carefully. Patients with acute alcohol intoxication, central nervous system drug overdose, severe respiratory depression, head injury, those who have recently taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors, patients with severe kidney or liver disease, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and individuals with specific genetic disorders should not receive this medication. Caution should be exercised when using concurrently with morphine or in patients with liver disorders, kidney disorders, alcohol use, or a history of seizures, as drowsiness or dizziness may occur during medication use, and driving or operating machinery should be avoided. Discontinuing this medication abruptly may lead to withdrawal symptoms, so doses should be reduced gradually according to a physician's instructions. This medication may interact with various other drugs, so it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication, particularly during breastfeeding, as it may cause serious side effects in the infant. Elderly patients should use reduced doses, and in cases of overdose, severe respiratory depression and seizures may occur, necessitating immediate emergency care. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children in a safe place and stored in its original container to maintain quality.
