Appearance
This medicine is a white, crystalline powder with a strawberry flavor and taste, used as a syrup prepared by suspending in water. When suspended in water, it becomes a whitish to pale yellow suspension.

This medicine helps to dissolve mucus and facilitate easier expulsion of phlegm in acute and chronic respiratory diseases. Therefore, it is effective in alleviating respiratory symptoms such as cough and difficulty in breathing. For adults weighing more than 30 kg, administer 350mg orally twice a day.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in certain patients. Patients who are allergic to this medicine or its ingredients should not take it. Patients with liver cirrhosis or certain enzyme deficiencies should not be given this medicine as its metabolites may cause problems in the body. Patients with peptic ulcers should also refrain from taking this medicine. It is not suitable for patients with severe renal impairment and severe liver impairment. Additionally, this medicine contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or congenital metabolic disorders. Patients with mild or moderate liver impairment should use this medicine cautiously and be careful not to exceed a daily dosage of 300mg. Diabetic patients or those on a low-calorie diet should also exercise caution when using this medicine, especially when taking it in syrup form. Symptoms of overdose may include sweating, dizziness, and facial flushing. Neurological and respiratory adverse reactions such as headaches, cold symptoms, and difficulty breathing have been reported. Gastrointestinal issues may include altered taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and heartburn. Skin allergic reactions such as urticaria, erythema, and eczema may also occur. Additionally, symptoms such as fatigue, indigestion, palpitations, facial or general swelling, itching, lethargy, confusion, and rash have been reported. Caution is particularly advised when taken with expectorants, as this may make expelling phlegm from the bronchi difficult, increasing the risk of bronchial infection and causing bronchospasm.
