Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the components in this medicine can contract the uterus or affect pelvic organs, posing a risk of miscarriage or preterm labor. It is also advised that breastfeeding women refrain from taking this medicine, as some components may be transmitted through breast milk and can cause diarrhea in infants. Newborns or patients with chills or diarrhea symptoms, as well as those with very weak constitutions, should not take this medicine. Patients with hypertension, heart or kidney diseases, those with edema, the elderly, and those who are currently on other medications should consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medicine. It is also safe for patients with diarrhea or loose stools, those with a weak stomach, or those experiencing loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting symptoms to consult a professional before taking it. If symptoms such as swelling of the face or limbs, or increased blood pressure occur during the course of this medication, one must immediately discontinue use and consult with a professional. This is due to the potential for low potassium levels in the blood, which can lead to muscle weakness or spasms. If symptoms such as indigestion, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, rashes, or other skin reactions appear, one should also stop taking the medicine and inform a healthcare professional. If symptoms do not improve after several days of use, it is advisable to discontinue use and consult a professional. Care should be taken to not use this medicine for an extended period, and the prescribed dosage and directions should be thoroughly followed. Particularly, the component Dahuang can have varying effects on individuals, so caution in dosage is necessary. Furthermore, caution is necessary if taken in conjunction with potassium or licorice-containing preparations, certain diuretics, as this may lead to decreased blood potassium levels and muscle abnormalities. Irritant laxatives should not be used for extended periods as they may reduce efficacy and worsen constipation, so they should not be taken for more than one week. If constipation persists, the cause should be investigated. When taken with other herbal medicines, care should be taken not to overlap with the same components, especially if taken with products containing Dahuang. This medicine should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and kept in a safe location out of reach of children. If the medicine is removed from its original container and stored in another container, it may become contaminated or degrade in quality, so it must be kept sealed in its original container.
