For example, those with bacterial infections such as tuberculosis or syphilis, fungal infections, viral infections such as shingles or herpes simplex, and animal skin infections like scabies or lice may experience worsening symptoms, so it should not be administered. Additionally, patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components should not use it. It is also advisable not to use this medication in patients with external otitis media with perforated eardrum, ulcers, severe burns, frostbite, dermatitis around the mouth, general acne, rosacea, or diaper rash. This medication should not be used in children under 2 years old. Long-term use or application to large areas may lead to skin infections; therefore, if signs of infection appear, use should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment should be initiated. Skin reactions such as skin irritation, rash, itching, and redness may occur; if these symptoms arise, use should be discontinued. Long-term use can result in side effects such as thinning of the skin or dilation of blood vessels, so it is recommended to gradually reduce the dosage and switch to another medication if symptoms appear. This drug may have systemic effects, so particularly when used with occlusive dressings, there is a risk of suppression of pituitary and adrenal function; regular examinations may be necessary. When using around the eyes, caution should be taken as it may lead to ocular problems such as increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, and if symptoms such as blurred vision occur, one should immediately consult a physician. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and should not be used for purposes other than treatment, such as after makeup or shaving. When using occlusive dressings, it must be done according to the physician’s instructions, and the affected area should be cleaned beforehand to reduce the risk of infection.
