This medication should not be administered to patients with blood disorders, kidney and liver diseases, gastric and duodenal disorders, or immune system diseases such as asthma or rheumatoid arthritis. It is also advisable not to administer this medication to patients taking steroids, antibiotics, cancer drugs, or azole antifungals. Individuals with a history of blood abnormalities such as erythrocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, or leukocytopenia are at risk of further decreasing blood cell counts when taking this medication. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to histamine H2-receptor antagonists should not use this medication. The safety of this medication has not been adequately confirmed in children under 15 years and in elderly patients over 80 years; especially in the elderly, renal function may decrease, significantly enhancing the drug's effect, thus caution is advised. Pregnant women or those who could become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, are advised to discontinue breastfeeding, as the drug may pass into breast milk. Patients undergoing dialysis should not take this medication, nor should those with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders due to the lactose content in this medication. Patients under medical care or those taking other medications must use this medication carefully due to the potential for drug interactions leading to side effects. Individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to medications, elderly patients over 65 years of age, and those with symptoms such as sore throat, cough, or high fever should consult with a specialist before taking this medication. It is also safe to consult healthcare providers if there is unexplained weight loss or persistent abdominal pain prior to taking this medication. This medication contains yellow No. 4 (tartrazine), so caution is necessary for patients allergic to this component. While taking this medication, symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and muscle pain may occur, and if these symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped and medical consultation is required. If symptoms such as chest tightness, pale skin, cold hands and feet, cold sweat, or shortness of breath occur, immediate action is needed. Additionally, if severe rash or blisters accompanied by high fever, sore throat, tendency to bleed, or jaundice occur, a healthcare facility should be visited immediately. If symptoms do not improve after 3 days of taking this medication, it may indicate another condition, so the medication should be stopped and consultation with a specialist is advised; it is also best not to use it for more than 2 weeks. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided while taking this medication, and care should be taken not to exceed the prescribed dosage. It is safer not to take this medication with other gastrointestinal medications; there may also be interactions with tetracycline antibiotics or fluoroquinolone antimicrobial agents, so consulting a specialist when taking them together is necessary.
