Effectiveness in controlling hypertension
This medication is used to manage hypertension, which is a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure. By managing hypertension, it can prevent serious complications such as heart disease or stroke. When taken safely, it helps effectively lower blood pressure.
For adults, take 1 tablet orally once a day. In patients with kidney impairment, dosage may be reduced or the interval between doses extended. For creatinine clearance of 15-35 mL/min/1.73 m², administer 50 mg once daily. For creatinine clearance below 15, administer 50 mg every other day. Adjust dosage based on age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with an allergy to specific ingredients, patients with a very slow heart rate or conduction problems in the heart, and patients with severe hypotension. Additionally, it should not be taken by patients with severe heart failure or those with very poor kidney function, as well as by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Caution is required in patients with obstructive airway disease or a history of asthma, and in cases of liver or kidney function issues. During treatment, side effects such as electrolyte imbalance, blood pressure drop, and heart rhythm disturbances may occur, so if the condition worsens or abnormal symptoms arise, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, skin rash, difficulty breathing, visual disturbances, and changes in mental status may appear. This medication can worsen symptoms of heart disease if stopped suddenly; therefore, dosage must be gradually reduced under a doctor's guidance. Moreover, interactions may occur when taken with other medications, so it is essential to inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking. It is safest to avoid this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it may affect the fetus or infant. Its safety has not been established in children, so it is advisable not to use it in that population. In cases of overdose, severe bradycardia, hypotension, respiratory issues, etc., can occur, necessitating immediate treatment at a medical facility. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it in its original container to maintain its quality and safety.
