This medication helps improve gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting caused by esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and inflammation and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum. It also alleviates discomfort from irritable bowel syndrome or spastic colon. In children, it is safely used for habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal issues like constipation and diarrhea. It is effectively used for improving various gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As Trimebutine Maleate, take 100 to 200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used in patients with genetic disorders that prevent the breakdown of lactose. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, nausea, and vomiting may rarely occur. Symptoms of a rapid heartbeat may rarely occur, so caution is needed. Neurological symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, and headaches may rarely appear. Since it can affect liver function and may rarely cause an elevation in liver enzymes, it is advisable to monitor liver health. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes may occur, and if such symptoms appear, discontinuation of the medication should be immediate. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not certain; therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use it when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. It is advisable for breastfeeding women to avoid taking this medication, and if it is necessary to take it, stopping breastfeeding is preferable.
