Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics or those who have shown allergic reactions to it. Severe allergic reactions such as nausea, limb coldness, and difficulty breathing may rarely occur with this medication, so if such symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Additionally, hypersensitivity symptoms may occur, such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, difficulty breathing, rash, urticaria, pruritus, and redness or swelling around the eyes, and use should be stopped immediately if these symptoms arise. Irritation, burning sensation, pain, redness, itching, photophobia, blurred vision, tearing, and dryness may temporarily occur, and in rare cases, keratitis or severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, necessitating immediate cessation of the drug's use. Occasionally, auditory disturbances or irritability symptoms may occur, so caution is advised. To prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, this drug should only be used for the minimum duration required after susceptibility testing, as prolonged use may lead to excessive growth of fungi or resistant organisms, so long-term use is not advisable. Particularly for trachoma treatment, the standard treatment duration is eight weeks, and caution should be exercised when continuing after. During treatment, avoid wearing soft contact lenses and use only for instillation. Be careful not to let the opening of the bottle touch the eye directly, and it is important not to share it with others to prevent contamination. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this drug when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks since its safety has not been established, and breastfeeding should be discontinued or the drug should be stopped if nursing. It is advisable not to use this medication in infants under one year of age as safety and efficacy have not been confirmed. Lastly, store this drug out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. Additionally, prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the drug by not transferring it to other containers.
