View approved original text

This medication is used for the initial treatment of corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions that are secondarily infected by neomycin-sensitive bacteria. It is primarily effective for eczema or infected wounds, helping to alleviate infections and control the inflammatory response. This promotes healing of the wound area and contributes to symptom improvement.

How to apply

Adult use

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area once or twice a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be used on areas with specific skin infections. For example, patients with bacterial, fungal, viral, or animal skin infections may experience worsening symptoms, so it should not be administered. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components should also avoid use. Caution is necessary for patients with eczematous otitis externa with perforation of the eardrum, as healing may be delayed. It is best to avoid use in patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, as healing of the skin may be delayed. Patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea should also avoid this medication. If there is hypersensitivity to certain antibiotics, this medication should not be used. Special caution is required if there are wounds around the eyes or breast, and there is a risk of transmitting the medication to the infant if breastfeeding. Pregnant women, women of childbearing potential, and nursing mothers should use this medication carefully and only minimally when necessary. Children should be monitored closely under parental supervision due to a larger body surface area relative to weight, which may result in hormonal side effects. This medication contains propylene glycol, and patients with a history of allergies to this ingredient should use it cautiously. Various skin side effects such as skin infections, irritation, rashes, itching, and skin dryness may occur, so if symptoms arise, use should be stopped immediately, and consultation with a specialist is advised. Prolonged use may result in steroid-related side effects such as skin atrophy, vascular dilation, and pigment changes; therefore, it is advisable to gradually reduce the dosage and switch to a non-steroidal agent. Caution is necessary when used on extensive areas for a long time or when a sealed dressing is applied, as systemic side effects may occur. Extreme caution is recommended when using around the eyes due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma; if vision changes occur, immediate ophthalmic consultation should be sought. If sensitization symptoms such as itching, redness, or swelling appear while using this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and long-term use should be avoided. It is essential to strictly follow the prescribed dosage and regimen and discontinue use as soon as symptoms improve. If there is no therapeutic effect or if symptoms worsen, use should be stopped immediately and consultation with a healthcare professional should be made. When used on children, supervision and guidance from guardians are needed, and care should be taken in environments that may create a sealed dressing effect, like diapers. This medication is not for ophthalmic use; if it gets into the eye, wash immediately and seek ophthalmic care if severe symptoms occur. It should not be used for skin care after makeup or shaving, and sealed dressings should only be applied under medical supervision. Store this medication in a sealed container away from exposure to air, ideally at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it in this way helps maintain the efficacy of the medication.
