This medication is effective against dermatophyte infections caused by fungi such as Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton, including athlete's foot, tinea capitis, and tinea corporis. It is also used in the treatment of tinea versicolor caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare, and is effective for candidiasis of the skin. In other words, it is a very useful drug for the treatment of various dermatophyte infections.

How to use

Adult use

Apply to the affected area (site of disease) once or twice daily. 1. Athlete's foot: once daily for 1 week Interdigital (between toes) athlete's foot: twice daily for 1 week Plantar (sole of foot) athlete's foot: twice daily for 2 weeks 2. Tinea corporis, tinea capitis: 1 to 2 weeks 3. Cutaneous candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks 4. Tinea versicolor: 2 weeks If clinical symptoms do not improve after the treatment period, diagnosis should be reassessed.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used by individuals who are allergic or have had hypersensitivity reactions to this medication or its components. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should avoid using this medication. Moreover, this medication should not be used in children. If you experience allergic symptoms such as rash or if the skin becomes severely irritated or worsens while using this medication, stop use immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. If symptoms such as hives, red spots, itching, irritation, contact dermatitis, skin peeling, scab formation, pigment changes, stabbing pain or burning sensation develop, inform a healthcare professional immediately. When using this medication, do not use occlusive dressings or coverings unless directed by a physician. If this medication is ineffective, fungal testing should be conducted to check for other infectious agents and other treatments should be utilized. In cases of candidiasis, it is advisable not to use acidic soap. This medication is minimally absorbed through intact skin, so systemic side effects are rare; however, caution should be observed especially in infants where systemic side effects may occur if used on wound sites or large areas. If this medication is accidentally ingested, activated charcoal should be used to remove the active ingredient and treatment based on symptoms should be administered if necessary. This medication is for external use only and care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes. If it enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, as irritation or worsening of eye infections may occur. It is advisable not to use it on nails, the scalp, around the mouth, or in the vaginal area. A slight phototoxicity (damage to the skin caused by light exposure) has been reported in animal studies, so caution should be taken regarding sun exposure. Store this medication out of reach of children, and do not transfer the medicine from its original container to another container, as this may lead to misuse and degradation of quality; always store it in its original container and ensure it is tightly closed.
