This medication is used for various inflammatory joint diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), and pericapsulitis of the scapulohumeral joint. It is also effective in alleviating pain from dental pain, inflammation resulting from trauma, lower back pain, sciatica, and non-articular rheumatism. In other words, it helps reduce inflammation and pain associated with joints, improving the discomfort experienced in daily life.

How to take

Adult dose

As aceclofenac, take 100 mg every 12 hours, twice a day. Do not chew or crush the tablet; swallow it whole. Adjust according to symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, it should be given at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before use by individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks daily, as the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding may increase with use. It may affect the heart and cerebral blood vessels, hence patients with cardiovascular disease risks should use it cautiously. In particular, if there are risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, or smoking, the use should be discussed with a doctor, and ideally, it should be taken at the lowest dosage for the shortest duration necessary. This medication can burden the stomach and should not be used by patients with a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding. Additionally, elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders should be cautious, as serious adverse reactions like gastrointestinal bleeding may occur. This medication may interact with other drugs, so patients taking anticoagulants, diuretics, blood pressure medications, or diabetes medications should definitely consult a doctor. If symptoms such as dizziness, skin rash, or difficulty breathing occur during use, inform medical personnel immediately for treatment. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children and adolescents have not been established, and it is advisable not to use it in this population.
