Herpes simplex virus infections include initial symptoms as well as recurrent genital herpes and cold sores. This medication is effective in treating such herpes simplex virus infections, alleviating symptoms, and preventing the progression of the infection to assist the patient's rapid recovery. It is particularly used to improve the symptoms of herpes occurring in the genital and oral areas.

How to apply

Adult use

This medication should be applied to the affected area 5 times a day at approximately 4-hour intervals. Treatment should continue for 5 days, and if there is no improvement after 5 days, it may be used for an additional 5 days.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who have had an allergy or hypersensitivity to its components. Additionally, this medication is not to be used by women who are breastfeeding or by children. It should be used cautiously in patients with weakened immune systems, such as those with AIDS or bone marrow transplant recipients, and caution is also necessary for those allergic to the propylene glycol component included in this medication. When using this medication, if there are ulcers in the genital area, tenderness or discomfort may be experienced. Temporary burning sensations, mild pain, dermatitis, rashes, itching, and other symptoms may appear, and if symptoms worsen, consultation with a professional is recommended.
