Improvement of chronic hepatitis (elevated ALT)
This medication is used when ALT is persistently elevated due to chronic hepatitis.
As biphenyl dimethyl dicarboxylate, administer 25 to 50 mg once, 3 times a day orally. Adjust doses appropriately based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this drug or its ingredients. Additionally, this drug contains lactose, so individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients suffering from chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis should use this medication with caution and under the guidance of a physician. This drug may cause side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rashes. These symptoms may improve when taken with allergy medications. Transient jaundice symptoms may appear, but they will resolve with either discontinuation of the drug or the use of jaundice treatment agents. Rare cases of nausea or abdominal bloating may occur, but these symptoms will naturally dissipate over time. Taking this medication together with a drug called inosine may improve liver function values, such as ALT. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should not take this medication. Elderly individuals may have reduced bodily functions, so it's important to take this drug with caution or reduce the dosage. There are rarely significant increases in liver function test values while taking this medication, but stopping the drug can lead to elevated liver values, whereas resuming the drug may improve the condition. This drug should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children and kept in its original packaging tightly closed. Transferring it to another container may result in incorrect use or degradation of quality, so care should be exercised.
Transient jaundice (liver abnormality)
