Herpes simplex virus infections include cold sores occurring around the mouth and genital herpes occurring in the genital area. This medication effectively treats symptoms from the initial phase to recurrence, helping to quickly alleviate symptoms and prevent recurrence. It reduces pain and inflammation of the infected area and promotes wound healing. Additionally, it prevents the worsening of symptoms by inhibiting viral activity. This drug is used for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections.

How to apply

Adult use

Apply this drug to the affected area 2-5 times a day at 4-hour intervals for one week.

Precautions

It is very important not to use this medication for certain patients. First, it should not be administered to patients who have allergies or have had hypersensitivity reactions to this drug or its ingredients. Also, it is recommended not to use this drug in nursing women and children. Caution should be exercised when using this drug in immunocompromised patients, such as those with AIDS or post-bone marrow transplant patients. When using this drug, care should be taken as ulcers in the genital area may cause tenderness or discomfort. Various skin reactions such as temporary burning, mild pain, dermatitis, erythema, eczema, itching, swelling, etc., may occur. The skin may become dry and peel, so any unusual symptoms should be immediately checked. Treatment should be started as soon as possible at the onset of the disease, and in case of recurrence, it is effective to use it immediately when symptoms first appear. The prescribed dosage and duration must be strictly followed, and this medication should not be used by asymptomatic individuals. This drug is not used to prevent infection in others or to prevent recurrence. While the possibility of resistance formation is low, it should not be completely ruled out, so caution is necessary. This drug should not be diluted or mixed with other drugs. No known interactions with other drugs exist; however, there may be changes in blood concentration when used with some systemic medications. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use it when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as some abnormalities have been observed in animal studies. It is preferable not to use this drug during breastfeeding, as the drug may be secreted in breast milk when given systemically. The safety and efficacy in children have not been sufficiently validated; therefore, it is advisable not to use it in children. This medication is an external application only for the skin and should not be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes, as contact with oral or vaginal mucous membranes can cause irritation. To prevent the medication from spreading to other areas or infecting others, it is recommended to wear a glove or rubber gloves when applying.
