Treatment of dermatophyte infections (athlete's foot, body ringworm) and tinea versicolor, candidiasis of the skin
This medication is used for the treatment of athlete's foot, body ringworm, and other dermatophyte infections caused by fungi such as Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. It is also effective against tinea versicolor caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare and skin candidiasis. In summary, this medication helps improve various dermatophyte and candidal infections.
Apply to the affected area (diseased area) once or twice daily. The duration of treatment varies by the condition as follows: 1. Athlete's Foot: Once daily for 1 week Interdigital (between toes) athlete's foot: Twice daily for 1 week Plantar (on soles) athlete's foot: Twice daily for 2 weeks 2. Body Ringworm, Tinea Capitis: 1 to 2 weeks 3. Skin Candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks 4. Tinea Versicolor: 2 weeks Even after the treatment duration, if clinical symptoms do not improve
This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to it or have had hypersensitivity reactions to any of its ingredients. It is also recommended that pregnant women, those who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers avoid using this medication. Furthermore, it is advised that this medication not be used in children. If a rash, excessive irritation, itching, redness, hives, dermatitis, or any similar symptoms occur while using this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. It is advisable to bring the medication's accompanying documents during consultation. When using this medication, do not apply airtight dressings or occlusive methods without a doctor's guidance. If symptoms do not improve with this medication, it may indicate an infection by other fungi, necessitating professional examination. If candidal infection is suspected, it is best to avoid the use of acidic soaps. This medication has minimal systemic effects when applied to intact skin, but caution is needed when applied to wounded areas, large skin areas, or in infants, as systemic effects may occur. If this medication is ingested accidentally, it is necessary to use medicinal charcoal to eliminate the active ingredient and seek appropriate treatment if needed. This medication is solely intended for external application on the skin and must not be applied to the eyes or the ocular area. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water immediately, and caution is needed as rare cases of worsening eye infections may occur. It is also safe to avoid application to the toenails, scalp, around the mouth, and genital areas. Some phototoxicity has been reported in animal studies, so it is advisable to avoid direct sunlight. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, and do not transfer the medication from its original container to another container; always store it in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
