Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, it should not be given to patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, patients receiving live vaccines, those with herpes simplex, chickenpox, or zoster infections, and those with infections or systemic fungal infections not responding to effective antimicrobial agents. Moreover, since it contains lactose, it should not be used in patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. This drug should be used cautiously in some patients. Patients with glaucoma should be careful as intraocular pressure may rise and exacerbate symptoms. Similarly, tuberculosis patients or those with herpes simplex keratitis may experience worsening symptoms. Patients with hypertension, electrolyte disturbances, thrombosis, peptic ulcer, psychiatric disorders, osteoporosis, and diabetes should also exercise caution when using this medication. Particularly, patients with renal or heart failure may have delayed drug excretion, increasing the risk of side effects. Long-term use of this medication may lead to decreased adrenal function, and sudden discontinuation may result in severe side effects, so doses should be reduced gradually. Additionally, this medication can lower immunity, making patients susceptible to infections, so precautions for infection prevention should be taken, and live vaccinations should be avoided. This medication can interact with several other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to consult with your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or nursing women should only use this medication under a doctor's recommendation, as it may impact the fetus or newborn and breastfeeding should ideally be discontinued. For pediatric or elderly patients, dosage and duration must be carefully adjusted due to a higher risk of growth delays or side effects. Lastly, diabetic patients need to undergo regular check-ups and monitoring as this medication may lead to vision problems.
