Precautions

It is very important to avoid using this medication in certain patients. It may be dangerous to administer this drug to patients with allergies to any of its components, as well as those with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. Additionally, caution is needed in patients with prolactin-secreting tumors as this medication may increase prolactin secretion. This drug should not be prescribed to patients with moderate or severe liver dysfunction, or to pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. Patients with cardiac conditions such as cardiac conduction abnormalities, electrolyte imbalances, or heart failure may experience exacerbation of heart issues if this drug is taken, therefore it is contraindicated. Patients with lactose intolerance or certain metabolic disorders should avoid specific formulations of this medication. Careful administration is needed for pediatric, elderly, patients with renal or mild hepatic impairment, and those with a history of heart disease, considering the possibility of adverse reactions. As this drug is primarily metabolized in the liver, patients with liver dysfunction require dosage adjustment and close monitoring. Patients with severe renal impairment should have their dosing frequency and amount reduced, with regular check-ups needed for long-term use. This medication can cause central nervous system adverse reactions such as drowsiness or dizziness; therefore, driving or operating machinery should be avoided after taking it. The drug can prolong the QT interval associated with heartbeats, increasing the risk of arrhythmias, so patients with heart disease or the elderly should consult a physician before taking it. There are many interactions to be aware of when taken with other medications. In particular, co-administration with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or medications that prolong the QT interval can increase the risk of cardiac side effects, so either avoid combination or monitor strictly. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this drug, and special care is needed as the baby may experience heart problems or side effects while breastfeeding. Pediatric dosing is limited according to weight, and particular caution should be exercised with infants under one year old due to a heightened risk of central nervous system adverse reactions. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as agitation, dizziness, seizures, and altered consciousness may occur, and immediate medical assistance is required, including ECG monitoring and appropriate treatment. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in the original container to prevent degradation and misuse. During the course of taking this medication, it is important to consult healthcare personnel immediately if any adverse reactions or heart symptoms occur.
