This medication is used in the treatment of various gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective in preventing Mendelson's syndrome before anesthesia and treating ulcers after surgery, as well as those caused by NSAID use. It helps improve gastric mucosal lesions caused by acute exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis and is also used for the treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, such as peptic bleeding or stress ulcers. Additionally, it alleviates symptoms of excessive stomach acid, heartburn, and belching, thus overall improving patients' gastric health.

How to take

As Ranitidine, the dosage for adults is 150 mg orally, twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime. For gastric and duodenal ulcers, the dosing can be 150 mg orally, twice a day or 300 mg once a day, at bedtime. Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its components. It should also be avoided in patients who have a history of acute porphyria. Patients with poor kidney function should reduce the dosage or increase the dosing interval, as this medication may remain in the body for a longer period. Patients with impaired liver function should also use with caution. Patients with a history of drug allergies or the elderly should be administered this medication with care. Particular caution is required when taken with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; the elderly with a history of gastric ulcers require regular check-ups. This medication may conceal symptoms of stomach cancer, so gastric ulcer patients or middle-aged and older patients with indigestion should verify malignancy before taking. Patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori should undergo eradication therapy simultaneously. During treatment with this medication, rare but serious allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, liver function impairment, heart issues, and gastrointestinal symptoms may occur, necessitating immediate consultation with a physician if unusual symptoms arise. If dizziness or drowsiness occurs, avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Drug interactions may occur when taken with other medications, so it is essential to inform the physician or pharmacist of any current medications. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication with caution, and it should only be administered when the benefits outweigh the risks. Safety has not been sufficiently established in children, so cautious use is required. The elderly may have impaired kidney function and may need dosage adjustments. This medication reduces stomach acid secretion, potentially promoting bacterial growth in the gastrointestinal tract, so eye examinations may be necessary with long-term use. Keep out of reach of children, and do not transfer to other containers.
