Patients with poor kidney function may have elevated blood concentrations due to insufficient elimination of the drug from the body and should have their dosage reduced or intervals between doses extended. Caution is also necessary for patients with impaired liver function. Patients with a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, and those taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should use this drug cautiously, and especially if there is a history of gastric ulcers, regular examination is necessary. This drug can mask the symptoms of gastric cancer, so patients with gastric ulcers or new or changing dyspeptic symptoms in middle-aged individuals should confirm whether cancer is present before taking this medication. Patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori should also receive treatment to eradicate the bacteria. While taking this medication, very rarely severe allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock may occur, so if symptoms arise, take the medication immediately and go to the hospital. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as hives, rash, fever, or breathing difficulties appear, take the medication again immediately. Abnormalities may appear in blood tests such as a decrease in white blood cells or platelets, so if symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, or fever occur, tests should be conducted, and if necessary, the medication should be discontinued. During treatment, the progression of the disease should be closely monitored, and if there is no effect, it is advisable to change to another treatment method. Particularly, special caution should be taken with elderly patients, chronic lung disease patients, diabetes patients, and immunocompromised patients as they may have a higher risk of developing pneumonia.
