Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with certain infections such as viral keratitis, fungal eye infections, and ocular tuberculosis. It should also not be administered to patients with untreated purulent infections or those who have had hypersensitivity reactions to this medication. It is safe not to use in patients with corneal epithelial damage or ulcers due to the risk of corneal perforation. Particular caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with glaucoma or children, as prolonged high-dose use in children may suppress adrenal function. Various side effects such as increased intraocular pressure, cataracts, and ocular infections may occur during use; therefore, regular monitoring of intraocular pressure and eye condition is necessary. Temporary blurriness may occur upon instillation, so driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. Using it in reddened eyes without a doctor's diagnosis poses a risk of blindness, therefore a consultation with a specialist is necessary before use. Additionally, if an infection with chickenpox or measles occurs while using this drug, it may lead to severe consequences; thus, it is important to verify medical history and vaccination status and to pay attention to infection prevention. For contact lens wearers, lenses should be removed before application and can be reapplied after 15 minutes have passed since administration. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, usage should be immediately discontinued and a doctor should be consulted. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, and nursing mothers should also consider discontinuing the drug or breastfeeding while on medication. Particular care should be taken when administering to children or the elderly due to potential declines in physiological function. While serious issues do not occur with overdose, if an excess is inadvertently taken, drinking fluids to dilute the effect is recommended. This medication is intended for topical use only and care should be taken to avoid contamination by ensuring that the tip of the container does not touch the eye or other surfaces. Avoid sharing and store in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Moreover, it is crucial to avoid direct sunlight and not to transfer the medication to another container to maintain its quality.
