Oral medications are used for rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis. In addition, they are effective for relief of fever and pain caused by colds, low back pain, and dysmenorrhea, as well as postoperative pain. They are also used for ankylosing spondylitis, headache, toothache, muscle pain, neuralgia, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis, and soft tissue injuries (sprains, strains), as well as non-articular rheumatic diseases like tendinitis, tenosynovitis, and bursitis. Meanwhile, suppository forms are used to reduce fever in children with acute upper respiratory infections. Thus, this medication is effectively used for various joint and pain-related disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

For rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injuries, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis: Adults should take ibuprofen 200-600mg per dose orally, 3-4 times a day. The maximum daily dose may be up to 3200mg. For mild to moderate pain and colds: Adults should take 200-400mg per dose orally, 3-4 times a day. Adjust based on age and symptoms.

Women in the late stages of pregnancy should not use this medication, as it can harm the fetus. This medication should not be taken in excess of the recommended dosage, and concurrent use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided. Breastfeeding women should also either stop breastfeeding or discontinue use since the medication can be transferred to breast milk and may cause side effects in the infant. Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, low-dose aspirin, or high-dose methotrexate.
