This medication is effective in treating degenerative joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis when taken orally. It is also effective in relieving fever and body aches caused by the common cold, low back pain, dysmenorrhea, and postoperative pain. Additionally, it is used for various pain and inflammatory diseases including ankylosing spondylitis, headache, toothache, myalgia, neuralgia, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis, soft tissue injuries (sprains, contusions), and non-articular rheumatic diseases such as tendinitis, tenosynovitis, and bursitis. It is also used as a suppository to relieve fever caused by acute upper respiratory tract infections in children. Overall, this medication helps to improve various joint and pain-related conditions and inflammatory states.

How to take

Adult dose

Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injuries, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis: Take 200-600mg per dose, 3-4 times daily, with a maximum daily dose of 3200mg. For mild and moderate pain, colds: Take 200-400mg per dose, 3-4 times daily. Adjust as appropriate based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

People who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol per day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication as gastrointestinal bleeding may occur. Patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors may have an increased risk of serious cardiovascular issues such as myocardial infarction or stroke when taking this medication. Extra caution should be exercised, especially when taking high doses for a prolonged period, and if any adverse reactions occur, the doctor should be consulted immediately. This medication may cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations. Elderly patients or those taking it for a long time should be monitored closely for these side effects. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, heart failure, or hypertension should not take this medication. Additionally, it should be avoided by those who are allergic to any of its ingredients, those with a history of bronchial asthma, pregnant women in late pregnancy, or individuals undergoing chemotherapy. This medication should not be taken in doses exceeding the recommended amount and it is advisable not to take it together with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. While breastfeeding, the medication may transfer into breast milk and cause adverse reactions in the baby, thus breastfeeding should be halted or the medication should be stopped. Individuals with blood abnormalities, liver/kidney disease, heart disease, hypertension, or a history of hypersensitivity should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Caution is also necessary when combined with certain medications (e.g., ACE inhibitors, lithium, diuretics, methotrexate, anticoagulants, SSRIs, etc.). If any severe allergic reactions, bleeding, gastrointestinal issues, skin rashes, liver dysfunction, respiratory difficulties, renal problems, or cardiac issues occur while taking this medication, it should be stopped immediately and medical advice sought. This medication should be taken for the shortest possible duration at the minimum effective dose, and regular check-ups should be performed to identify any adverse signs, especially in patients with hypertension or heart failure who should closely monitor blood pressure and fluid status. Overdose may result in symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, liver dysfunction, renal failure, respiratory depression, and hypotension, for which immediate medical treatment is required. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and kept in its original container, as transferring it to another container may lead to misuse and compromise its quality.

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication together with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, low-dose aspirin, or high-dose methotrexate. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking it with ACE inhibitors, lithium, furosemide and thiazide diuretics, coumarin-based anticoagulants (such as warfarin), or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
